Have you ever found a hidden treasure?

A buddy @ work introduced me to Geocaching. I luv it. Luh--uvvvv it! It is very relaxing. I lose track of all my "so-called problems" and turn into a hound dog. The hunt is on! I'm not the best at it but, I try. I haven't caught on to the riddles yet. I'm not very good at those (everybody has their weaknesses).

Get yourself a handheld GPS and log onto http://www.geocaching.com/. It's free and fun. Well, if you get that "exclusive" package...I think it's like $10 for 3 months or something. Even so, it's cheap and fun.

If you have children and want to have fun while spending quality time without spending quality cash....you've hit the jackpot.

If you don't have kids and just want to roam around aimlessly, like me.....you've found the activity.

Those suckers are everywhere. Whatever your location....just log it in and BAM!!!!! the site will show in detail all of the geocaches located around your area. You'd be suprised what's hidden and where.

P.S. I love to geocache at parks. Everyone there is looking at you like, what the heck are you doing? Did you lose an earring or something. Is that a metal detector? What is that? What are you doing? Are you alright?

You can spark some crazy conversations.

Hi lady,

sorry it took so long for me to respond.

Geocaching is a great think to do with friends. Basically, if you're just starting out: Log on to the website...and register. Afterwards, create a search in your area by entering you town, city and/or zip code. google maps will pop up along with geocache locations. If you click on a particular geocache...a message window will appear with all the information you will need to find that particular cache. use a handheld gps, enter the coordinates and solve the little riddles (if there are any). Drive out to the destination, follow the coordinates on your gps....and begin searching. Sometimes you can leave little trinkets behind. There is also always something a little notepad or somthing to sign just to let everyone else know "I've been here". When you find it (It can come in any form - the site www.geocaching.com will explain the sizes)..just leave a little gift (anything - a mickey d's toy or anything)...I had money left over from Europe...so a few times, I left euros.

Even if you don't have kids, get a bunch of your friends together and go searching for one.....i guarantee you will have a blast.

Now, once you really get into it...you can creat your own geocache and hide it somewhere. I think that all you have to do for that is enter the info on the site and keep track of the blog as far as questions.

some can be really easy....some can be SUPER HARD!!! Some can be right in front of you and it takes you an hour to find it.

It's really cool.

This comment was really long...lol
